About Me

Hello and Welcome!

My name is Elizabeth Davidson. I am currently a 7th grade math teacher in the South Bend Public Schools. I love teaching and love creating and designing. My hope for this website is to share my passion for making middle school math more engaging. It is a place to share my resources, ideas, and all the other random stuff.

From the time I was a little girl I knew I wanted to be a teacher. I would be distracted in class dreaming of how I would design my own classroom. I grew up with a speech disability and ADHD, but I did not let this stop me from pursuing my dream. I believe growing up with a learning disability helped shaped me as a teacher. I know what that child is feeling when they can’t sit still. I know how a disability can affect not only your education but your personal life too. These so called set backs were just challenges that made me a better person and I believe a better teacher.

I went to school at Bowling Green State University. After graduating with a Middle school math and science education degree I moved to South Bend where I found a job at an amazing school.

I believe that math curriculum in the middle school years turns away from manipulatives, math centers, and interactive activities to homework and bookwork. Middle school math curriculum should have notes and book work but also have time with manipulatives, assigned math centers, and exploration activities.

Since I have an amazing principal who provides freedom to her teachers I am able to create my own curriculum and include more engaging activities for my students.

I hope you enjoy my website and be sure to check out my twitter and Pinterest page!

Always keeping math engaging!
